Client Testimonials.

  • I would unequivocally recommend Michelle Peterson as an expert witness in a child abuse case.  My case involved a minor that was sexually abused by a coach in a youth sports organization.  Ms. Peterson was very pleasant and cooperative to work with, she understood the liability issues at hand and delivered excellent testimony in her expert deposition.  When the defense attempted to exclude Ms. Peterson, arguing that she had no experience with organizations in Washington state, the Court rightfully concluded that she was a National expert and was qualified to testify to the general standard of care for youth organizations, regardless of where the organization was located.  The defense team admitted that Ms. Peterson was a well qualified and well spoken expert witness.  I would also highly recommend any youth sports organization to consult with Ms. Peterson to obtain her expertise in developing policies that prevent child abuse in youth sports.  I would definitely hire Ms. Peterson again.

  • The ability to have a qualified expert such as Michelle to review forensic interviews and educate the court about how to protect a child in a potentially dangerous situation has made all the difference to the children I work with. I would certainly recommend her expertise to any person who works professionally in protecting children.

  • “We contacted Michelle after our business was faced with a difficult situation involving a former employee.  Michelle met with us on very short notice and put us at ease immediately.  She got to work right away, meeting with our staff, learning about our business and our procedures and reviewing our policies.  After several discussions, she spent weeks writing, revising and implementing an amazing abuse protection policy.  We are so thankful to have had Michelle on our team.  She was a warm and friendly face in a challenging time, and was always there to answer a question or give us information.   She is incredibly passionate about her goal in preventing abuse in our society. We would highly recommend working with Michelle, whether your business is currently going through a difficult situation or if you are interested in working to prevent child abuse in your organization.”

  • “Working with Michelle helped give me peace of mind that we were doing everything we could to prevent abuse.  As an educational consulting company we wanted  to take every measure to protect the children that we serve.  Michelle was extremely thorough, personable and understanding.  Instead of judging “our current state of affairs” she guided us in moving forward so that we now use state of the art guidelines that work to protect both children and the adults who serve them.”

  • “Gov. Hickenlooper signed SB 13-012 into law on March 22 and the idea for this bill truly came from within Senate District 18. Michelle Peterson approached me last summer and let me know that while officials of public sports teams are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect, officials from private teams were not required to be “mandatory reporters.”

We got a bill drafted, and Rep. Jonathan Singer signed on as the House sponsor. Peterson personally testified at Senate and House committee hearings, and helped round up other qualified speakers to make the case for passage. The original bill was amended several times to clarify language regarding which officials would be deemed mandatory reporters, but the bill passed with bipartisan support. Peterson deserves a great deal of credit for her work on the bill.”

  • In my ten years as a detective assigned to investigate crimes against children, I have worked with Michelle Peterson as a forensic interviewer, as a trainer, and as a subject matter expert in the area of sexual abuse. Michelle has a wealth of experience in working with child victims and child protection professionals, and she has a talent for effectively conveying that knowledge and experience to others. She is sought after in the child protection community as an interviewer, expert witness, and trainer. Many of the successful outcomes of my cases were due in large part to Michelle’s hard work and expertise in the investigation of child sexual abuse.
